A Brief History of the ChapelIn March of 1989, through the direct inspiration of the Holy Spirit, this new devotion to Mary, Mother of the Unborn was begun. The beautiful statue used for this devotion was purchased through the donations of many individual priests as a gift to those who would come to our chapel to pray.
The devotion was created to say "thank you" to Mary, the Mother of us all, for interceding with her Son, especially for those couples who had difficulties in conceiving a child.
Over the years, we have collected thousands of pictures of children who were born after their hopeful parents came to the chapel to pray to Mary.
We also have over 70 large books in which people wrote their own prayer intentions and messages to Our Lady.
Since its beginning in 1989, we have learned that the Chapel of Mary, Mother of the Unborn is a very powerful place. People visit at all times of the day and many come from long distances to pray here. There is no other church that sponsors this particular devotion.
The photos displayed on the walls of the chapel, and the many we've collected over the years, are proof of the power of this devotion.
Each child depicted in the chapel is considered by their parents to be the "miracle they asked for."
These miracles happen to those who trust in God and His Mother and are not frightened or discouraged by difficulties along the way. -
Blessing of Babies and Parents
On March 25th, we celebrate the Feast day of Mary, Mother of the Unborn, we bless all new-born children, expecting couples, adoptive parents and children with special needs as part of each Mass during the weekend closest to this date. We invite you to ask your relatives to join us at Mass that weekend no matter where they live.
Our parish is the ONLY parish in the Diocese which has this devotion to Mary, under this title. The "baby chapel" has been a real blessing for hundreds of couples who have visited it. Our Chapel of Mary, Mother of the Unborn, has been the subject of many magazine articles here in the USA, in Italy and in Canada. You can help to promote this powerful devotion by your invitation to others. -
Prayer of Mary, Mother of the Unborn
O Mary, Mother of the Unborn,
protect the gift of human life which your
Divine Son has allowed to be given.
Give strength and joy to all parents as
they await the birth of the precious
child they have conceived.
Give courage to those who are fearful,
calm those who are anxious and guide
all of us, with your motherly care,
to treasure and protect the miraculous gift of human life.
We ask this through your Son,
Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
